The DTM 2012 season will kick off in style as the F1 drivers from Mercedes GP team will rumble upon in the opening race at Hockenheim. Nico Rosberg, the successful driver since the resurrection of the team from the ashes will take to the wheels of a successful racing car in the team’s history, W196.

Driven by the spectacular, late  great, Juan Manuel Fangio in 1955, the car also marked the last race winning car for Mercedes as a works team – until Rosberg changed it all after taking a serene victory in the Chinese GP.

Michael Schumacher will show off the fully fledged W02 car on the race day to excite fans and fellow drivers.

He is attending his first race in the juggernaut touring car championship of the year for the first time since 20 years. With the introduction of BMW after two decades, the new season promises to be a lingering spectacle.

  2. This sounds like it is an event not to be missed! The Silver Arrows back in full force after Nico’s win and with Seven Time World Champ Schumacher there! I only wish I could be there. This is one for the history books.
