Narain hits back at furious Vettel

Controversies surrounding the Malaysian race are plenty. Reigning world champion chips the sweet spot  – his comments on incident with Narain Karthikeyan . While running fourth, he tried to pass the HRT – kissing carbon fibre on the way out – ending up losing his tyres with a left-rear puncture.

As the field was closer than he realised, he rejoined after pits only in 12th eventually ending his any chance of scoring points.Right after the race he was quoted saying,

“As in real life, there are a few cucumbers on the road.” and remarking him as “Idiot” His words on Narain raised questions on his temper, though on-board video clearly showed it was Vettel to be blamed for the tangle.

Narain was polietely on a sorry note right after the race to Vettel and Button on their individual incidents with him. But he rightly hits back after insulting comments from Vettel on reporting to HT “For a world champion to say things like that is really shameful,”

He described it was a shame for the reigning double world champion and called him a “crybaby”

“It is really unprofessional. For a driver who has achieved so much to take out his frustrations on me just because he is having a difficult year is really sad. One does not expect a professional sportsman to be such a crybaby.”

He gets the support from his co-drivers too. Force India driver Paul Di Resta felt that the comments came in the heat of the moment during the race. He said,

“I think a lot was said in the heat of the moment. I think it was probably wrong words used by Vettel. On the other hand it also shows the passion and commitment of the drivers to the sport. I am sure they will be back on good terms soon,”

His teammate Hulkenberg said, “I had seen the incidents on TV and don’t feel Narain can be blamed in either of the incidents. I think Vettel had a frustrating day with nothing to show for at the end of it. That frustration could have come out in his words.”

Another incident crops up in mind when both Redbull drivers tangled in Turkey. It was Vettel who caused the collapse – developing a strong feud with Webber. Favouritism lied on Vettel though that time and now a 20second penalty for Narain which keeps him baffled for not doing anything seriously wrong there.
